Buyer scorecard for construction
A two-page scorecard. Nine things to ask the seller to show you, on one of your own jobs.
The superintendent says the work is complete. The office screen says it is not. A new platform will not fix that unless it can follow a real job from the quote to the closed-job record.
This scorecard gives you the nine questions, what a good answer looks like, the red flag for each, and a simple score.
We will email you about this scorecard and related posts. Unsubscribe any time.

Pick a job with a quote, orders, field updates, and a change order. Not sample data.
The same nine questions and the same score for every seller, including us.
What is on it
Every demo works. The Wi-Fi is fast and the sample data is clean. The real test is one of your jobs. Each question gets a 2 if they showed it on a real job, a 1 if it took a workaround, and a 0 if they could not show it.

Three of the nine
One job from approved quote through purchasing, field progress, job cost, billing, and closeout.
A good answer: The job keeps one number the whole way.
Red flag: People match records by customer name, address, or memory.
What changed in the field today, and when the office sees it.
A good answer: The office sees it without a call.
Red flag: Information only moves one way.
One change order with its owner, approval, and next step.
A good answer: Every stage has a person attached.
Red flag: "Pending" with no name on it.
